my life

Posted by: amanda on: April 6, 2009

I’m from a rather small family, I have a older brother and a younger sister.  I’m the middle one, often the neglected one.

I’m married in 1998.  That is 10 years ago!!  I’m turning 34 next month.

My life has been very boring.  After finished my secondary school, my dad wanted to send me to Canada to further my studies.  One of his best friend migrated to Canada and highly promoted Canada to my dad.  Well, I did not listen to him.  I went to take a business diploma instead.  I didn’t want to leave my boy friend (now my husband) behind.  Fast forward my life a few years, my boy friend went oversea to finish his degree.  I cried and cried the day he left Malaysia.  He repeatedly promised me that he will be back to get back with me.  I didn’t believe him.

Fast forward my life a few years, I graduated and got a job at Dell.  This is probably one of the best part of my life.  Without my boyfriend around, I got to do a lot of activities with friends and colleagues.  Although I was strongly in love with him, I dare not to pay much hope.  My boyfriend and I kept in contact, from daily letter to weekly, then to monthly letter.  I felt that he was neglecting me.  Perhaps he was busy with studies. At one point I thought maybe he forgot me.  We fought a lot, sometimes on the phone, most of the times is just a long long silence from both sides (no letters, no phone calls).  During his 3 years absence, I have a few admirers come and go.  Nothing serious.

Fast forwad again, he called me and telling me he is not going to attend the convacation.  He wants to see me immediately.  I did not know whether I should believe him.  I showed up at the airport on the day he is coming back, his parents and friends were all at the airport.  I was hiding at a corner, looking at them from a far distance.  I was afraid him carrying a new girl friend coming back.  He did not.  I saw him came out from the gate, he was looking for me, and to my pleasant surprise he called me.  I had tear in my eyes.  At that point, I knew he is sitll mine.  I was so cheerful.

He started his first job.  A few months later we got married.   We had our first child in 2002 (a girl); second one in 2004 (boy) and the last one in 2007 (a boy).

I do not have much of a career, I worked as an admin at dell for 4 years.  After that I started a clothing shop, and sold it before my last boy was born.  After that, I bought a florist business, which only last for 1+ year.  I sold it before my husband is taking a new assignment working in China.  My 3 children and I moved back to my parents’ house.  Here starts my life as a house wife.

That is just a summary.

It is hard to describe how much sadness and happiness behind the summary: how much tears, worries, pains, etc I have suffered; how much happiness I have received.
